Internet poker has become world celebrated as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years several variations on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the casino instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier declares "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers acquire 5 cards each. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you have to either make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s value is equal to your original ante, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your bet goes instantly to the dealer. After the bet comes the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, including a sum on par with the original bet. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The dealer pony’s up chips equal to your wager and controlled expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- two to one for two pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
