Poker has become world famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the dealer saying "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other players attain 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the casino’s first card, you need to in turn make a call wager or give up. The call bet’s value is equal to your original bet, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Abandoning means that your bet goes directly to the dealer. After the wager is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, plus an amount in accordance with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays money equal to your bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

• Equal for a pair or high card
• two to one for 2 pairs
• 3-1 for 3 of a kind
• four to one for a straight
• five to one for a flush
• seven to one for a full house
• twenty to one for a four of a kind
• fifty to one for a straight flush
• 100-1 for a royal flush
