Howard Lederer grew up in a family of 5 where he enjoyed betting on various card games when he was young. He discovered himself becoming really competitive in the above-mentioned card games while playing his dad. After finishing high school, Howard made a decision to put higher education on hold for a little while and moved to New York City to play some formidable chess. The real improvement in his abilities happened when he began betting at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best players would often compete against one another. He was able to access several of the foremost players in chess. Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. She was a great student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the correct choice. Howard Lederer told Annie to head out to Sin City and compete in the WSOP tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the greatest women players the poker arena has ever seen. He relocated to Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and played cash games for the successive decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard decided to play more tournaments.
