Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa introduced him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the detrimental comments from others annihilate his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an eternal love for poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
