Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five where he enjoyed playing various card games when he was young. He discovered himself getting really competitive in these particular card games while competing against his dad. He also helped his sister Annie Duke master poker. She was an excellent student of poker as she constantly asked questions about how to make the proper decision. He told Annie Duke to head out to Sin City and play in the WSOP competition. Annie Duke is one of the best women players the poker world ever. Howard Lederer relocated to Las Vegas in 1993 and participated in cash games for the next 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, he decided to participate in more tournaments.
