Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the west in an awesome game for new gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the dealer, unlike the majority of other poker games that gamblers bet with other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, starting players don’t have to be concerned about other, more knowledgeable people taking their money.
Another Pai Gow advantage is the relatively slow game pace, newcomers are able to take their time and strategize without having to make hasty decisions.
It’s also easier to participate in for an extended time with only a tiny bit of money after all, to lose, each of your hands needs to be lower than each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is given seven cards face up and the croupier is dealt seven cards face down.
One 5 card hand and one two card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the five card hand has to be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the houses.
